Submission Pixel Art Jam 2024

Hello pixel people ! 

I'm SaduRaimu in here, but I prefer ManonCitron, and here is my first ever submission to a Jam ! 

Even though I knew it was a chill community project, the pressure to come back to my favorite art style was definitely present. 

What if I wasn't good anymore ? What if I couldn't work with only 4 colors ? What am I supposed to do ? Is it enough or am I doing too much ? 

Answering those question is unnecessary. I just went with the flow, remembering that I'm just a person that make pictures out of tiny squares ;).

Now, on to the project : my lil' non trypophobia friendly fluffy monster !

I started to sketch out little ideas out of the things that surrounded me, thinking about what was possible with the different palettes available. But I assure you, I didn't have a bowl of bloody eyeballs next to me.

I then ended up with the idea of having a monster with his eyes picking out of a bush. The limitation of colors pushed me to go with a simpler foliage type, resembling an artichoke. You could easily imagine this lil' guy walking behind you when out of sight and crawl into a bush, hiding his lil' legs, when you finally turn around.

I didn't watch about the number of unique tiles during my process, and I'm glad I stopped to check if I was within the limits : 190 <.< !

It was a wonderful challenge for me, even though I wanted to do more details and texturing (I might update it later !).
